INTRODUCING JUNTOS

Community Learning Clubs.
Let’s Gather Around Ideas.

Benjamin Franklin pioneered the concept of the Junto, or “mutual improvement club” in which groups of curious learners can come together and explore topics of interest. This led to the first lending library and volunteer fire department.

Here at the Impact Guild we are going to do Juntos with our own twist! Think Book Club but instead of learning around a book, you’re coming together with a diverse group of people around a topic you all want to explore — Storytelling, crafting cocktails, micro-lending, whatever you dream up…

SUBMIT AN IDEA

What is that side passion you geek out about? Or that topic you keep saying: I’m so curious to try/learn more about _______?
We’re opening up submissions for ideas you’d like to teach or just explore with others.
You don’t need to be an expert in this topic. In fact, it would be best for the group to discover together. You just need: Something you are curious about and a willingness to spearhead the group.
Co-Create: Feel free to partner up with others — 1-3 people may lead a Junto together.

And we’re looking for you, our members, to spearhead.

CURRENT JUNTOS

Unstuck | Led by Amber Meegan

Day and time determined by groups

Many Creatives and Entrepreneurs find themselves stuck. Sometimes it’s as simple as figuring out the next step. In other cases, a side project has been put on hold and we need accountability and encouragement. Your specific situation might have a different narrative altogether. In any case, community, encouragement and feedback are all important elements of a solution-minded approach to development. Junto:Unstuck will help you explore the possibilities and realities of making your idea turn into more of an actionable reality.

The basics: If you are interested, sign up here. We will work on creating groups of 3-4 people, who will meet every other week for 2 months. We will leave it up to your groups to establish the date and time. In every meeting, each member of the group will have the floor for 20-30 minutes, depending on the size of your group. You will be able to speak about the good things happening, but also the challenge(s) that might be keeping you stuck. The other members of the group will then be able to ask questions and offer suggestions. Through this, our hope is that the two needs we have discussed will be met: connection and creative growth.

Let us know you’re coming by emailing amber@theimpactguild.com or in the Slack channel, #unstuck.

PAST JUNTOS

Enneagram | Led by Bernie Byars and Amber Meegan

Join us on Thursday mornings as we continue our conversation about the Enneagram. This continuation of our previous Enneagram Junto, by popular demand, will explore the Subtypes of the nine personality types.

Let us know you’re coming by emailing amber@theimpactguild.com or in Slack #enneagramjuntos. We’ll be in touch!

The Artist’s Way

Join us weekly as we explore “The Artist’s Way: A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity” with Impact Guild members over the course of 12 weeks. The book focuses on finding our creative center, that we often neglect as adults. The author, Julia Cameron, teaches techniques and exercises to gain self-confidence in harnessing their creative talents and skills. Expect (fun & creative) assignments outside of our sessions

Our Stories, Together | Led by Joni Koehler and Jonathan Malm

“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” African Proverb
We all have a story inside that’s begging to get out, but putting that story to paper can be a daunting task. We have to overcome the notion that our words don’t matter. We must silence the inner critic that says our ideas aren’t in the right package; that they’re misspelled or the grammar isn’t correct. And when do we find the time to sandwich writing into our busy agendas?
In spite of the obstacles, writing can be a transformative personal act, but that doesn’t mean it has to be done alone. This summer, we’ll explore the principles of storytelling and carve out time to write together. Whether you’re interested in writing fact or fiction, we’d love to have you join.

Brew the Booch | Led by Kathryn Archer

This class will cover the basics of kombucha making including first fermentation, second fermentation, bottling and flavoring, tea selection, troubleshooting, and more! The classes will include live demonstrations of each step and hopefully at the final class, you can start your own home brew!

This morning yoga series will be a gentle way to begin your day and connect with your body, mind, and spirit. Taylor will guide you through aligning your breath with movement, and each class will have a unique theme to carry with you into the rest of your day.
