After the devastating July 4th floods destroyed over 400 homes in the Hill Country community, families are confronting the overwhelming challenge of rebuilding—some with empty houses ready for furnishing, others starting from the ground up after their homes were swept away entirely.

Arcadia Recovery Collaboration helps flood survivors turn those rebuilt and restored spaces back into fully furnished homes - complete with beds, kitchen essentials, and everything needed to rebuild daily life.

Recovery of this scale will take all of us—from design professionals to neighbors near and far.

We’re here to walk alongside our neighbors through the long months of recovery, helping them return home again.

HOW IT WORKS

A simple 4 step process to help you in your process of returning home again

A step-by-step infographic illustrating the process of a home renovation project. Step 1 shows a hand writing in a notebook labeled 'Needs Assessment.' Step 2 displays a floor plan design. Step 3 depicts two people bringing boxes into a house. Step 4 shows a group of people at a table with food, with the labels 'Welcome Home' and 'Gift Basket'.

1.SUBMIT A "HOME HELP" FORM

This simple form let’s us know that you would like Arcadia Recovery Collaboration’s help in furnishing your home once reconstruction is completed. We realize that there are many unknowns. Submit your form and then we can work with you on the timeline and scale based on your needs.

3. INSTALL DAY

Install Day brings together your family, Project Manager, and volunteer team to transform your house room by room. Working together, we’ll move in your new furnishings and arrange each space to be comfortable, functional, and ready for daily life.

2. DEVELOP YOUR PROJECT PLAN

Your volunteer Project Manager will meet with you to assess your space and match you with furnishings that fit your home and lifestyle. Our Project Managers include architects, interior designers, and community members with a keen design sensibility and project management experience — all committed to helping transform your house back into a functional, welcoming home.

4. WELCOME HOME BASKET

Your Welcome Home Basket is a care package welcoming your family into your space. It’s a gift of love put together by volunteers to marks this step of your recovery journey, as you officially move into a place that feels like home again.

“This house welcomed the weary flood victims back home… and it was the soft landing I had hoped for. It felt like the old home but fresh and new. A place to make new memories for generations to come. Thank you.”

We are neighbors who live along the Guadalupe or were formed along its banks. We have been residents in Kerrville for over 40 years  and in the design/build industry for longer than that. Our neighborhood, Arcadia Loop, is the inspiration for the name because the strength of neighbors helping neighbors is the core of this initiative. We are a family coming together to use our skills to help and to collaborate with friends new and old.
